In fact, a building of mosque near the bridge is being reconstructed after it was demolished to make way for construction of new bridge over the Uru creek. The Facebook post use the construction of a building in the mosque to spread the rumor.

A monk of a monastery in Ku Htay village, which situated near the construction site, put pressure on the authorities to demolish the mosque.

The monk said, “If you cannot do I will have to come by myself. If I have to come down many youths, who are my followers will accompany me. You have to take responsibility for the consequences,”

The land where the mosque is being built is allotted by a clerk at the Cooperative Department, U Ye Maung. After he passed away in 2006 religious teachers from Myitkyina has taken charge over construction of the mosque.

More than 500 Muslim live in Lone Khin village where more than 2000 households live.
